Giuseppe Leogrande

Born in Ravenna on the 10th of October 1963. He graduated in law from the University of Bologna in 1988, with a thesis on ‘Fair compensation and the law of tort’ (‘Equo indennizzo e fatto illecito’), thesis supervisor: Professor Ugo Ruffolo). He was admitted to the Bar in 1992 and has been working with the firm since 1989 handling in particular cases concerning bankruptcy and company law. He has acted as arbitrator in arbitration proceedings and as company consultant in the drawing up of contracts.
From 1995 to 2003 he was in charge of the legal department of Fochi Group during a period in which the company was in extraordinary administration and was responsible for liaison with the supervisory and regulatory authorities. From 2004 to the present, he has, together with Professor Maffei, acted as a consultant to Parmalat Group, which is currently in extraordinary administration.
Since 2007 he has been the Extraordinary Commissioner of Tecnosistemi, Giacomelli and Itea Groups.

He has participated in various seminars and conferences including:

  • A course in the law and practice of bankruptcy law, University of Bologna, Faculty of Economics, November 2002, in which he was a speaker on ‘The extraordinary administration of large insolvent companies’ (‘L’amministrazione straordinaria delle grandi imprese insolventi’).
  • A preparation course for the office of Receiver – IPSOA Scuola d’Impresa, Mantova November 2003, in which he was a speaker on the subject of ‘Pending Legal Relationships’ (‘I rapporti giuridici pendenti’).
  • A seminar offering an in-depth analysis of reform in company law, Ipsoa Editore s.r.l, Pesaro, November 2003, speaker on ‘Shareholder Agreements’ (‘I patti parasociali’)
  • Nuoro, January 2007. Conference organised by the Scuola di Formazione Forense, in which he was a speaker on the subject of ‘The compositions with creditors’ (‘Il concordato fallimentare ed il concordato preventivo’ )
